Aniel77
Hello, I have been working and living in the US on H1B Visa and got i140 Approved. Now I wanted to move to Canada on PR and eventually Citizenship after 3 years. My Current Employer(GC Petitioner) is not going to revoke my I140 petition. I wanted to pursue my US GC but I am sceptical how this will be affected. Can I still hold H1B status after surrendering Indian Passport? Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
1. Citizens of every country in the world are eligible for H1 status 2. You will surrender the Indian Passport once you become a Canadian citizen. In three years time, for all you know you may be well settled in Canada. Quote Link to comment

As long as your employer continues to make a bona fide offer to employ you after you immigrate, your immigration case can continue even if you are not working for them and/or not in the US. Your wait will not get any shorter as that is based on your country of birth. Quote Link to comment
