Soumyadyuti
Hello All, My wife and daughter went to India before the pandemic started and got stuck. They have approved I-797 valid until Oct, 2021 but my daughter's passport will be expiring in Feb, 2021. While in India we have renewed her passport thinking that if the US consulate opens they will ask for a passport of atleast 6 months validity. My question here is, as the I-797 is approved and given on the old passport, will my family face any issues with her visa stamping on the new passport? My organisation immigration team said, I have to fill a new DS-160 with new passport and take the printout along with old DS-160, both passports to the biomatric. Can you please suggest if there is anything I am missing here. Quote Link to comment
lovely
Yes, I think you need to update latest passport number in a new DS-160 and print, this is not very rare and does happen from time to time, there were even reviews and updates in the same forum that few others were in similar situations and got their visas and travelled.
