Hello Everyone,

I hope you and your family is staying safe in these unprecedented days.

I'm on H1b visa and unmarried. Currently, I'm working in a full time job as my employer is responsible for the Immigration to support  my H1B.GC.I'm planning to write a realtor exam soon and get the license to start working as a Affiliated broker as the part time.  The broker company I have the contact with mentioned that they will provide me 1099 form for the commission I get after the Closings. The question is ,since I'm in H1b,do I qualify to work on 1099 ?,and what are the legal issues I will face with the visa,if I start the part time job as a realtor.

Appreciate your Answers and clarifications..

Thank you in Advance,

-R

Violation of H1B regulations.

if you really want to work as realtor, ask broker company to file h1b for you and you'll have to prove your specialty occupation.

violating norms- not worth it.

It is not possible to get an H1 for working as a realtor, because that work does not require a college degree.

The OP can NOT work as realtor unless he has unrestricted work authorization, e.g. an EAD or a GC. Period.
