To my knowledge, Job Portability under INA section 204(j) rule came in Jan 2017. It looks like it allows job portability while filing I-485 if current employer (not started PERM) is ok to provide go ahead based on approved I-140 from previous employer.

Am I understanding correctly that current employer need not file PERM or I-140 from fresh but still the primary applicant can file I-485 with current employer info instead of previous employer?
