Anu_123qwert
I lost my old passport which had the visa stamping. Applied and got new passport. Now, I recently moved to Texas. By the time I got appointment in DMV, my old licence (from Florida) got expired. When I went to DMV for new licence, they are asking for visa stamping page in the passport. Though I showed them all my documents like recent H1b I 797 approval notice, ssn, copy of the stamping in the lost passport, they are not accepting. I even showed them the police report for the lost passport. Still they did not accept. Travelling to India for stamping is the least option I could think of in this current situation. Kindly let me know what I can do to get the licence other than travelling. Quote Link to comment
JoeF
Ask to talk to a supervisor at the DMV. A visa is not required, the I-94 shows the valid status in the US. Quote Link to comment
newacct
Did you apply for REAL ID or non-REAL-ID driver's license? I believe that without a visa you might only be able to apply for a non-REAL-ID driver's license. Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
You may choose to get a supervisor involved. You may like to get an appropriate Lawyer in Texas involved For appropriate guidance, and have your employer pay if he is kind enough. The visa lets you enter the country. The I94 lets you stay. Maybe also contact your local house or senate member and see what happens. Quote Link to comment
