Vee_Jai Posted August 15, 2020 Report Share Posted August 15, 2020 Hi, In the I-539 form instruction document , they list the non-immigrant categories. I dont see H1B, instead I see only H4 category. I am trying to file COS for H1B to B2 for me any my family. Is there a separate form for H1B (the petition holder) for COS ? Thanks Guru Quote Link to comment

newacct Posted August 25, 2020 Report Share Posted August 25, 2020 If you are changing to B2 status, you file I-539, and B2 is listed in I-539 instructions. H1b is not listed in I-539 instructions because I-539 cannot be filed to change into (or extend) H1b status; that can only be done by the employer filing I-129.
