Verma0201 Posted July 23, 2020 Report Posted July 23, 2020 Hi All, Hope you all are doing well and keeping yourself safe! I have a query regarding H1B amendment. I am a fulltime employee of an organization with H1 approved for NYC and Chicago locations. I started working for a client based in Charlotte NC and got my H1B amendment approved for client location till 30 Apr 2020 and new location added as approved location along with with base locations. After my contract got over with the client, I supposed to start with another client based in Chicago but I couldn't move due to COVID-19 and staying in Charlotte NC instead. 1.The question is that if I start woorking with new Client from my current location (Charlotte NC - same address), do I need to file another amendment for new Client? I know that, If I move to new location, I need to file the amendment. 2. What if I move to my base location (NYC) and work for new client, do I still need to file the amendment? Please let me know in case any doubts in my queries. Appreciate your help. Thanks! Quote
User099 Posted July 23, 2020 Report Posted July 23, 2020 You might be covered for the location change, but if the job duties are changing then it will need amendment. Usually change in client will need an amendment as the job duties will change. Quote

Your parent company may have already filed an extension for your H1b. What are the details of this extension? Does it give work location as Charlotte, NC in the LCA? Then you can continue working from NC. otherwise go back to NYC, your base location, where original H1b is filed (would love a more experienced member to comment on this) Edited July 28, 2020 by Zodiac System Quote
