h1buser123 Posted July 10, 2020 Report Posted July 10, 2020 I have been laid off by my company , the company will keep me in their payroll for next 2 months plus severance but I am not supposed to work in that timeframe. my 60 days grace period will kick in after my last payroll , so basically I get 4 months to look for a job. Now my question is, if I get a job immediately I'll be be receiving paychecks from both my new company and old company , is it ok since I am legally not working for old company. if not then what should I do in this case. User099 Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 Its better to run this by an attorney since the day you have stopped working for the company, your 60 day grace period starts. You can use the 2 additional months in some cases but that is a little gray area. Severance period is not considered and its counted towards the 60 day grace period. Quote
