My wife H4 EAD was applied with H1B and H4 I-797s from company A. When I changed job to company B, I did NOT change my wife H4 petition, which is valid till Feb 2021, by new H1B petition with company B got approved till Feb 2022. I can apply for my wife's H4 EAD extension in Aug (6 months before expiry). My question is do I need to change by wife H4 to the new company B before I apply for the H4 EAD extension, or I can apply for H4 EAD extension with my wife's H4 being with Company A, and my H1B petition with Company B. User099 Posted June 2, 2020 Report Share Posted June 2, 2020 Her H4 is good till Feb 2021, she doesn't need a new H4. But she will get EAD only till her H4 is valid. So its better to apply for H4 and EAD so that you can get it till 2022. H4 is not tied to your company but its tied to your H1. Quote Link to comment
