SCSVEL Posted March 17, 2020 Report Share Posted March 17, 2020 All, We are trying to move to different university and J1 transfer is completed but the payroll is not started yet as still they are waiting for background check process to complete. My question is now is that legally allowed? I know in H1B visa, no payroll for a day means out of status. So wondering if J1 is different in this case?
