H4 RFE and stamping issues

Hello All, 

I need a piece of a quick advice on the below situation and risk.

Me and my wife I applied for our H1 and h4 extensions.

I got my h1 approved on dec 2019 and plan to travel to India to get our visa's stamped in India this January.

My wife plan to use my H1B approval notice to get her h4 visa stamped.

Today I received an RFE on the H4 Extension that was pending from Nov 2019 ... did not receive the letter so don't know the reason for RFE.

Our appointment dates with US consulate in India is 26 and 27th jan 2020.

I plan to respond to RFE as soon as I get the letter but not sure if it comes before we travel.

So in this situation few questions:

1) Are our h1 and h4 visa stamping in India could be affected due to this RFE?

2) Do I need to respond to the before I travel to India for stamping?

1. It will depend on what the RFE is about. If its something about some missing documents then you are ok. If its something different, then expect a question about it from CO at the time of interview.

2. Lets wait for the RFE and see whats it about to decide on replying to it.

1) No issues unless it is a serious RFE.

2) Not needed. You can just go and get stamped.
