Form I-797 B, Notice of Action

Hello,

I went through my H1B interview today and the VO informed me that the application will have to undergo administrative processing. My path is from F1 -> CPT -> OPT -> STEM -> H1b. One of the concerns I have is my approval notice for H1b is a form i-797B (H1 valid from 1st October 2019) and my F1 visa expired on Dec 31st 2017). My i-94 says "Duration of Stay". I continued to work till Nov 13th 2019 and only left the country on Nov 14th 2019. I am wondering if I have done something illegal by staying and working in the country because my STEM was inactivated on 1st October 2019 and I got form i-797B. Should I have left before October 1st and come back into states with a valid H1b stamp?

Also I checked my email from the attorney and it doesn't say anywhere that I need to leave the country on or before 1st October 2019. Neither did my university inform me about any such thing.

Regards,

Moe
