Present Employer in DS 160

I had applied for H4 extension and H4 EAD extension in July 2019. My current H4 and H4 EAD expired on 15th September 2019.
Since my company in the USA wanted me to continue working, they hired me as a contractor from India.
So currently I am waiting for extensions, and am working as a contractor from India for the US based company.
I am now filling the DS 160 application and it asks for "Present employer" - what should I put here? Should I put in my current company and mention I work as a independent contractor from India OR should I just say freelancer OR any other suggestions?

If you are working as contractor you are your own employer, i.e., you are freelancing.
