RFE for amendment but extension approved.

Hi, 

I’m a physical therapist working at a non profit organization. I recently applied for an extension and an amendment ( change in job location since my job has different branches) Of h1b. 
my extension was approved but I received an RFE for the amendment. I’m just puzzled at this since we submitted the same packet for both the processes. Has anyone faced this ? 
my questions 

1) does my extension yet hold valid currently ? (i have the approved i797)

2) if the amendment gets denied what happens to the approved extension ?

3) can i travel to india and get my passport stamped for the approved extension ?

Really worried.

This just proves how the process is at USCIS. I would suggest you talk to an attorney to see what you can do with the amendment petition.  Attorney can also make sure you are good to go for stamping and advice you on how to answer questions in the interview.
