F2 to H4 visa status change process - Guidance required.

Hi Team,

My H1B got approved few days back  (H1B start date : Oct 1,2019)and wanted to understand the process to change my wife's visa status from F2 to H4.

Clarification required details below :

1) Do I have to fill up and get the approval regarding the I-539 form before even going for the Visa Interview during the month of October ?

2) Can I directly book a visa interview slot without even filing/filling the I-539 form for H4 conversion ?

Please correct if I misstated and guide towards the right direction.

You can book a visa slot directly. No need of I-539 form. Make sure you go before October 1st week.
