I'm wrapping up my Master's program by the end of this year and willing to use my degree to go up the ladder in my career. As the priority date moves by inches, I prefer not to wait until I get the GC to make career progress. Currently, I'm a Senior Software Engineer and interested in Executive role (Director, AVP) either within the current company (or) new company who can transfer my H1. I like to know if any H1 or GC limitations in doing either of this? Does changing job title within the company require H1 amendment (or) new H1? If H1 amendment is an option, will it affect my GC (priority date Aug 2011)? Will it be the same or different challenge/risk if I look for a job change? In other words, changing job to the new company with new job title, is H1 transfer possible or filing new H1 required? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
