pj2294 Posted May 21, 2019 Report Posted May 21, 2019 Hello there, I was in the US between August 2015 and March 2017 [[on an F1 visa (while doing my MA at Columbia University in 2015-16) and later on a one-year OPT while working in New York (in 2016-17)]]. I returned to India in March 2017 and have been working in Chennai for over two years now. I'm planning to do a MBA in a top US university starting fall next year and I was wondering if I should be worried about my chances of getting an F1 visa for the second time. I'm a little concerned that the fact that I want to do a second master's in the US after returning and working in India for the last two years might work against me. So, if someone can shed light on how US visa authorities view people like me who want to enter the US on an F1 visa for the second time after a break of a few years working outside the US, that would be great! I did not overstay my visa or engage in any illegal practice during my two-year stay in the US, so I'm hoping that would work to my favor. PS: My current F1 visa (which I guess is worthless since I'm out of status) technically expires in June 2020, so I will have to reapply for a new F1 in order to do an MBA next fall.
