zz9898 Posted May 7, 2019 Report Posted May 7, 2019 I am a California resident. I applied for N-400 online and have natz interview scheduled for mid-May 2019. I will move to Florida for a job around mid-June. I hope oath ceremony is scheduled before I move out of Cali. I have heard that address change causes case file transfer and delays in processing. NOTE: My spouse will stay behind in Cali, so my address in Cali will stay valid for a few months. Q1. Do I have to mention my future job to the interviewer? My job wouldn't have started by the interview date. Q2. If I keep my address unchanged for N-400 and do not mention the move during the interview, I would attend the oath ceremony before moving to Florida (if ceremony is sched. before move) or I can come back for a day to attend it (if I have already moved). Is this approach advisable? OR Q3. Should I mention my future move to the interviewer and request them to expedite the date of oath ceremony so that I can attend it in Cali? Q4. Assume that oath cere is not scheduled by move date and I change my addr. to new (Florida) address upon moving. Will I have to go through interview again or will I just need to attend the oath ceremony in Florida?
JoeF Posted May 8, 2019 Report Posted May 8, 2019 There is no such thing as expediting the oath. And you are required to get a DL in Florida when you move, so your move would be known.
