H4 Visa stamping in Ontario, Canada

Hello All, 

I am on F1-opt status now and planned to convert to H4 by going to US Consulate in Ontario,Canada. I paid the visa fee but couldn't find any slot until Aug 29th. Does the availability change frequently? Kindly advise.
