New I797 VS Old I797 Question for scheduling H4 visa interview

I have scheduled a visa interview for my wife using receipt number of existing I-797 that expires in Aug 2020. The Visa fee is paid and interview is set. 

Now my employer is sending me another I-797 with dates extended to Oct 2021. 

Since visa fee is paid and appointment set, no changes can be made to DS-160 or Visa portal. 

Can I still ask her to go for the interview in June 2019 with existing application or do I need to cancel appointment and do it from the beginning again and pay Visa fee one more time with fresh DS160 form and the new I-797?

*both I-797 forms will be valid during the date of visa interview.

No need to cancel. Just fill a new DS-160 with latest I-797 details and ask your wife to show that during finger printing appointment. They will update it.
