Government ID is not available for passport pick up

Hi all,

I don't have Indian government ID except for passport. I'm going to India soon for H1B stamping in Hyderabad consulate. How can I pick up my passport without Indian ID? Is the passport photocopy or US Drivers license enough for pick up? On consulate website it says passport biographic information page is enough for pick up, but the original passport will be with them. Any experiences here with this problem?

Any photo ID that shows your name & your face on it should work mostly as far as i know.

Please double check once too

In mumbai, I was told US drivers license would work as well.

Take a color photocopy of your passport bio page along with US driver license and employer ID card.  Pls check before with the collection center.
