H1B Visa stamp while amendment is in progress

Hi All,

i have an H1B extension approved till Aug 2021. We applied for a amendment to add a new location recently. I work with a consulting firm and travel to customer location 1-2 times each month.

The Amendment is still in progress. I would like to visit India, however I need to attend stamping as my current stamping is expired. Can someone please suggest if its OK to go for Visa stamping in India while H1B amendment is in progress.

Did someone did that recently?

Not advisable to go for stamping while amendment is in progress. You most probably get stuck there with admin process. 

Check with your attorney.

I checked with my attorney and they said I can do the stamping based on old approved petition. They suggested to take the receipt notice of amendment. I am qualified for drop box this time.

This is one of the most general question which people ask without even doing basic searhc/research here.... it is not advisable to travel when your H1B petition is under processing....
