aabcdefg
Hello, My previous employer had applied for my Green card and I have an approved I-140 with a priority date of mid 2014. I was laid off in late 2017, and my new employer is stalling a little on the Green card process. My question is what happens if the priority date becomes current and I don't have a new I-140 approved with a new employer as in, how long do we have until we lose the priority date or do we lose it. Can I find a new employer and afford to wait 10 months or whatever to get a new I-140 approved after my priority date has become current. I understand this is a hypothetical question given the current backlog but would just like to understand. Link to comment
pontevecchio
I suspect the PD associated with the original I-140 is available to you for any later GC filing with no time limit. Link to comment
