O1 visa for physician

Hi all,

I am a physician on H1B visa. I applied for cardiology fellowship this year.  Its very hard to get cardiology fellowship on H1B visa(very few positions). I have around 30 abstracts published in renowned american journals and 7 full manuscripts published in good journals. I am trying to see if I can apply for O1 visa to do my cardiology fellowship for 3 years. Anyone has first hand experience in getting it?  Greatly appreciate your help..
