221(g) & there is no status update available for the passport number submitted

Hi All, 

Four weeks ago, I gave my Interview for the extension of my J1 visa ( at Chennai, India). I was issued 221(g) and Consular suggested to me to send some of the documents. I sent the documents as per his suggestions. Sofar the online status for visa shows "Visa is still in Administrative Processing". Though, checking the Passport status is not required, I did it. Until couple of days ago the passport stats was "Your passport is still with the consular post", but it changed to "there is no status update available for the passport number submitted". However, the visa status still in Administrative processing. If anybody has an idea on  this issue could you please share your experience. I appreciate your help. Thanks.
