can i apply for L2 dependent visa IF i have only 2 months valid visa

i have been in US 2 and half years and have valid visa for next 2 months. I haven't applied dependent visa for my family. planning to apply L2 now. 

is there a chance to get that approved even though, we have validity only 2 months. my company has applied my L1 extension.

is there any specific duration requirment
