Employment with US firm after visa rejection

Hi,

I was working with US consultancy firm on L1B. After 2.5 years, went back to India for reclassification from L1B to L1A Blanket. Visa got rejected. Company applied for L1A individual premium which was rejected as well.

Question - Does US entity have to terminate my employment if I work for member firm outside US for 1 year before reapplying for L1A visa or can they keep me on unpaid leave for 1 year. Will it impact my L1A petition next year?
