Skip Dropbox option and attend Consular Visa interview?

H1b Extension  eligible for Dropbox at Hyderabad but I want to attend consular visa interview , can I skip the dropbox and attend visa interview? Suggestions please.. I just answer the dropbox eligibility question No (even though it is Yes) was it okay? I'm going for a 3 weeks vacation and I'm afraid if I go for dropbox option if i get a 221 g it might get delayed

Either a dropbox and attending in person, it won't make a difference in time frame. If there is something they need to verify, they will issue 221 in anyway. Regarding travel plans, its better not to book the tickets before you will get the stamped passport in your hand.

Still my question, Can i answer any one dropbox eligibility question wrong just to attend a consular interview and to get a quick decision?

my goal is to avoid the delay we might have in the dropbox...please advise

So what did you eventually end up doing? I want to opt out as well, just not sure if it is the right thing to do.
