Change in Job role with not much difference in Job duties

Hello,

I have recently asked to change my role to go into a different department in the same company and same job location. However, the job title is different but the job roles are not very much different.

So, in this situation do I need to apply for amendment, or could my company apply for Green card and have this job change notification rolled into the LCA process of Green card.

Please suggest.
