NimmiV
Hi, My CPT approval end date was Feb 04. I was waiting for my OPT approval and as I did not receive it in time, I applied for another program that offers me CPT from day 1. The college told me that I could start working from Feb 05 as they would hand me a new I-20 immediately and hence I went to work on Feb 05. Meanwhile, on Feb 06, my OPT application status changed to 'Card mailed' and hence I chose to take 2 weeks leave without pay and wait for the EAD card to resume working and discontinue the new program. I am planning to go back to work after I receive my EAD card. My question is : As my CPT ended on Feb 04 and I had worked on Feb 05 without a valid CPT or OPT, will this be an issue? I got paid for working on Feb 05. What are my options to resolve this issue? Appreciate your help. Thanks, Nimmi Link to comment
JoeF
No real university gives out CPT from day one, only fraud institutions do. And by enrolling in that institution, your OPT ended automatically. You will have to leave the country. Link to comment
