Is I-94 update required after passport renewal if did not leave country?

Hi,

My H-1B extension was done in 2015 and I got my I-797A with the paper I-94 valid until Sep 2018. My passport expired in Nov 2017 and I got it renewed from Chicago in March 2017.

I never left the country since since 2013. Is my I-94 valid or do I need to have it updated after the passport renewal?
