Wanted to know whether my L1 clock reset or not. Below are details:1/23/2009 --->L1 A Blanket approved and stamping done in home country2/10/2010 ---> Traveled to USA on L1A Blanket VISA2/10/2010 to 8/7/2012 ---> Stayed in USA with L1A Blanket VISA8/10/2012 -->Went to home country for vacation and visa got denied when went for stamping with L1A Blanket10/20/2012 --->Applied for L1A Individual from home country11/5/2012 ---> L1A Individual approved3/1/2013 ---> VISA stamping done based on L1A Individual12/1/2013 --->Travellled to USA on L1A VISA11/5/2015 -->Applied for L1A extension from USA. Extension approved till 11/5/2017.11/2/2017 --->Applied for extension from USAWanted to know whether my clock reset since I stayed in home country from 8/7/2012 to 12/1/2013. Link to comment
srinI24 Posted December 22, 2017 Report Share Posted December 22, 2017 From some one who has been in a similar situation in the past, lets compute the difference in dates between the following 1) Date you landed in home country- 8/7/2012 2) Date you applied for L1A visa -10/20/2012 Since the above dates don't differ by 1 year, you clock was not reset. It doesn't matter that you travlled only 1 year later Link to comment

It doesn't matter that you travlled only 1 year later Indeed. The rule is that the clock only resets if the person has been abroad for at least a year before a new H1 or L1 petition is *filed*.
