Travelling to India in December 2017

Hello Every one,

I am travelling to India in December 2017 and coming back in Jan 2018 ( visiting for 1 month) with H-1B & visa valid until  2019 and travelling along with  my spouse who is on H4 with H4 visa valid until  2019.

1. Have approved H-1B approval Notice valid until 2019

2.  Current employer filled H-1B Amendment based on client change and amendment is in pending and got REF and employer answered the REF.

I have some clarifications as follows:

1. During the H-1B amendment in pending can I and my spouse travel  TO/FROM inida to USA ?

2.  What documents should I and my spouse need to carry along with me ?

3.  if Any port of entry experience ( New York) would be appreciated
