Travel out of country when h1b amendment in processing

I’ve valid h1b visa valid till next year. I changed client and applied for h1b amendment. Can I travel to India while my amendment is still in processing?

I had personally traveled more than once while my amendment was pending and did not have any issues.

@NotAnAttorney Has your amendment got approved after you came back to USA? Also, did you run into any issues like "H1B amendment petition approved but extension of stay not approved" and had to travel out of country again and come back?

but carry the h1b amendment receipt from your employer...to stamping...its safe to have it as reference.

@karthik1234I already have H1B stamping with previous I-797 valid till 2018 and don't have to go for stamping. I'm worried about port of entry and other consequences.
