H1B Approval on top of H4 Approval

My H1B transfer to Emp A was filed on Aug 28. On Receipt, I started to work for this employer on Sept 5.On Sept 28, I lost my job with Emp A .Then,I filed COS from H1B to H4 on Sept 29. This COS was approved on Oct 30.
Now,The H1B transfer by Emp A is also approved on Nov 14. Even though I am not currently working at Emp A.Looks like Emp A did not withdraw the petition after I left.

I want to make sure I am on h4 status.Which is the status I am on,now ? Do I need to take any actions at this point ?

2. Discuss possibilities of getting money as salary till now from A. Is A a desi company?

since your H1B status was the last approved, according to USCIS database you should be in H1B. Now if you travel outside and come back in H4, you can get that updated again to H4. Remember you may have to do stamping when you go outside. Else apply for a change of status through your spouse' company attorney to move to H4.
