Can i apply for H1B amendment and H1B extension 9 months before H1B expiration date ?

My current H1B is valid through 08/28/2017. My employer wants to me work at an additional location and wants me to file H1B amendment and H1B extension together. Is it advisable to apply for H1B extension with H1B amendment about 9 months in advance ? are there any risks associated ?

I think you meant visa valid through 08/28/2018.

Yes can do together, I know personally who had done this way and did not have any issues.

yes, your employer can file for extension, however, your employment end date would be earlier than what you have currently because, employer have to file LCA with employment date that starts within 180 days.
