Releasing music (independently) while on H1B

Hello everyone,
   I hold a H1B and work in a tech company (completely unrelated to music). During my free time, I produce music and release it online. I understand that I cannot make any money out of my music since it would be a violation of my visa (please correct me if I am wrong). 
Is it possible to at least set up some method of directly donating the money to charity? Would that still be illegal? I don't expect to make much money off of my music, but I would at least be satisfied if I could donate whatever little came out of it.
Any suggestions/ideas would be extremely helpful!

This is a rather unusual approach. It is probably best to discuss it with a good immigration lawyer.
