L2 EAD valid till Mar'18 and H4 COS was filed in Sep'17. Can I work?

Hi,

I have L2 EAD valid till Mar'18 and H4 COS was filed in Sep'17. However I never worked on the L2 EAD but now I want to work. My husband's I-140 is approved.

I have 2 questions:

1.) Is it legal for me to work on existing L2 EAD in the scenario that my H4 COS has been applied ?

2.) Can I work till Mar'18 on L2 EAD or only until H4 approval is received? 

For example - I start working today and H4 approval is received after a week, then I will have stop working and apply for new EAD based on H4?
