Traveling on OPT EAD Extension

Hello All ,

My OPT expires on September 2018,.I need to travel to India in the end of November 2017 and I will return by mid of December.What are the documents that I need to carry to travel to India.Is it safe to travel to India 8 months before OPT visa expires.
