VDW Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 Hi, My previous job ended on 31th August 2017. My H1B grace period (60 day) ends on 30th October. My employer says he filed my H1b transfer and is waiting on the receipt number. Should I leave the country if I don't have the receipt number by 30th Oct ? My employer has the Fedex delivery confirmation for the H1B packet he sent to USCIS.

Ask your attorney to email USCIS premium processing dept WITHOUT providing your details. USCIS would definitely respond stating that they cannot find your details and request the attorney to provide applicant details. Attorney responds Premium Processing dept might locate your file and provide receipt number via email communication. Bingo! That's what you need. The email would also say that they will not entertain any further queries since, application is not under premium processing. This algorithm has fair success rate.
