H1B Visa Stamping and Employer Change Queries

Hi,

My Employer has filed H1B petition this year(may 2017), received approval letter as well.

Here are my queries:

  1. Can I Switch employer(Say a reputed US based x company) even before the stamping in india? 

  2. Does client letter compulsory for stamping?

1: Yes you can switch employer but employer must transfer your H1B

2: If you get it, things will be smooth else not you need to carry at least email correspondence stating why client cannot give you letter.
