H1b stamping require approved Labor or I140 with current employer ?

Hi All,

i obtained current H1B extension using approved I 140 petition filed by previous employer. Do i need to have approved I 140 or labor with current employer if i travel out of country and attend for visa stamping? Also, I am in 6th year of my H1B and this is the first time stepping out of country!  Does it matter ? Please advice.

Not really required, your approved I140 is no where related for stamping as long as you hold a valid I797.

If you have it.. just carry a copy of I140 just in case. People who get I140 most of them like me carry copy of it just in case.

Thanks for your responses. My GC process is not yet started in the new company yet! And i dont have a copy of my I140 from old employer.
