w4a Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017 Hi All, I got my PERM approved recently. However I am realizing it now that in my approved form ETA 9089, for question on "Institution where relevant education specified in question 11 (i.e Bachelor's) received" - I had written College Name. I was told many of the people that it should have been the University Name instead. Also when I cross verified with my degree certificate and Bachelor's marks sheets, it has only the University Name and NO mention of college name anywhere. I am not sure how big is this mistake. Can anyone please suggest how to address this issue while filing for I-140? Thank you !
JoeF Posted October 25, 2017 Report Posted October 25, 2017 I'm not quite sure what you mean by "College Name". Something like "Trinity College" instead of "University of Cambridge"? In the US, college and university usually mean the same thing. It could result in an RFE. It is best to discuss with your lawyer how to address this.
w4a Posted October 25, 2017 Author Report Posted October 25, 2017 @JoeF Yes. Mentioned something like "Trinity College", which is affiliated to something like "University of Cambridge". But the Bachelor's certificate mentions only the University Name and no reference to the college.
