Swetha29 Posted October 19, 2017 Report Posted October 19, 2017 Hi, I have scheduled my H1-B Visa interview at Chennai Consulate in November. During the time I scheduled my interview, my H1-B visa expiration date was March,2018 but I had filed for my H1-B Visa extension recently and have received an approval date until March 2020. All information provided in my DS-160 and interview scheduling is with respect to March 2018 approval date and approval notice. If my visa interview is successful, until when will I be receiving my visa stamp? Is it until March 2018 or March 2020? Is there any way for me to intimate the consulate regarding the extension approval? Any help in this regard would be great. Thanks, Swetha
nmurthy Posted October 20, 2017 Report Posted October 20, 2017 All you need to do is this 1. Go to DS-160 filling site and retrieve your DS160 (by providing the ds160 number, your last name and whatever other details they ask for) 2. There is an option to "Copy". Click that and copy your existing DS160 to create another DS160. 3. Edit the new DS160 and update your new I797 number and expiration date and submit that application. 4. Call the VFS India helpdesk number and let them know you have a new DS160 number and they will update it in your consulate appointment record. 5. When you go for stamping, take both DS160's, both I797's with you. YOU SHOULD GET YOUR VISA STAMPED UNTIL March 2020. Good Luck

Fill a new DS-160 with latest H-1 details and update it in the appointment website and if you cannot call the customer care they will guide you.
