Changing employer on I-140

Hi friends,

I am working as a consultant and my I-140 got approved 18 months back. My wife works on H4 EAD. Now my client is making a full time offer so thinking of transferring my H1-B. I know it can take 5 or 6 more years before my PD gets current. I have few questions here.

1) does my future employer needs to start my GC immediately.

2) can my current employer revoke my I-140 ( got it long back)

3) to extend my wife's EAD, do I have to have a valid I-140 at the time of her EAD extension ?

4) I know within 6 years since H1 start, we need to get H1-B. But by end of 6 years, do we need to have a valid I-140 with new employer to extend H1 beyond 6 years.

4) as getting GC is very far, is it just possible to continue on H1 (or switching between H1s) and getting I-140 by that current time ?

I know these are lot of questions, but please be kind to answer these. Thanks in advance!

1. No

2. Yes, but you retain the PD in any case and revocation will not affect you.

3. Yes

4. You do not seem to keep up with developments and reading the Murthy site may be a good start. Since your I-140 has been approved more than 6 months ago, you will get H1 extensions till the PD is current irrespective of whether the I-140 is revoked or not.

4?5. you are entitled to H1 extensions till the PD of the currently approved I-140 is current. Of course things may change.
