PinguKumar Posted September 30, 2017 Report Posted September 30, 2017 Hi Friends, I am glad I found this forum, to give you a quick recap of my immigration history I entered the country in 2014 in F1 visa for my masters degree. In October 2014 while working on my OPT I married my fiancé who is a US CItizen. We filed for concurrent filling i130,485,765,131 in December and I did the biometrics on January 10. I also got my combo EAD plus AP card a long time back in March itself which has helped me continue working. Our field office is Minneapolis St Paul which is severe backed up and I was not expecting an interview anytime soon. But recently somebody who filed around my priority date of second week of December from my state got an interview call, which made me concerned and made me talk to an TIER II immigration officer on phone. The officer was very kind and said that it seems that my case is still in NBC either because of clerical delays or background and security check clearances post which it will be forwarded to my field office. I am from India and although I am an Hindu I have a Muslim sounding name which makes me wonder if this is the reason my background check is taking time. I also know from multiple sources and the tier II officer confirmed that in such a case u have no option but to wait and nobody can expedite a case. This new knowledge is making me nervous and I don’t know what to do ? Especially because I am approaching almost 1 year since filing my petitions and will have to renew my EAD in December so that I get it by the time this one expires in March. does anybody have similar problems ? Any suggestions ?
