stxp Posted September 27, 2017 Report Posted September 27, 2017 Hi all, Sorry if this has been posted before, but I wasn't able to find an exact search result. My H1-B visa stamp expires today, while my I-94 is valid until Feb 2018. Meanwhile, my employer has filed for extension of status 45 days back (ofcourse, no premium processing), and they say it is expected to take 4-6 months to process. I have to make a 3 week trip to India this new year for an important function. I take it that it would be a problem on re-entry.If my visa magically manages to get approved while in India, is it easy to get the new visa stamped (to get an appointment)? I assume I only need to give my fingerprints and photo taken at VAC (no interview at Consulate). What are my options if my visa is still pending on re-entry?I have an approved I-140 if that matters. Thanks for any help!
gopalakrishnach Posted September 28, 2017 Report Posted September 28, 2017 If your visa application is approved you need to go to visa interview and get visa stamped. Its not super easy and its not super hard. You need to get visa interview dates which depends on situations. Eventhough you are eligible for drop off box you may be still called for interview.
rohit369 Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 You just have to wait in India until you get your new visa stamp on your passport.
