Using expired H1B petition

Hi All,

I am currently on L1b visa and have a approved H1B petition valid till September 2017. Will I be able to use the same H1B petition to transfer to another employer after the petition is expired? 

Will there be any issues with the petition transfer given that the petition is expired and is cap exempt. The petition was approved last year October 2016.

So employer can just use the same receipt number to file an extension and after approved I can join the employer. Is that correct?

Also there is no impact if I was never on H1B status with that petition? Thanks for the response,

No, H1 transfer cannot be filed without working for your initial H1 sponsoring employer.
