Jeevz Posted September 23, 2017 Report Posted September 23, 2017 Hi, I am currently employed with company A and have a valid H1 stamp and petition for the current employer which is valid till Mar 2020. I have received an offer from company B and have shared my documents with them for starting my H1 transfer process. They will be filing my H1 petition with USCIS sometime next week. As premium processing is no more available, I understand it would take 2 to 3 weeks to receive the transfer receipt. In the mean time I would like to travel to India for some urgent work. I am planning to come back to the US and work for my existing employer on return. I will then serve my notice period of one week with the current employer and then join the new employer. I have heard that once a H1 transfer petition if filed with USCIS a notification is sent to the Homeland Department regarding the change of employer. I am not sure if this is correct and in such scenarios would I need to produce the transfer receipt at the Port of Entry. Please can the experts advise me on this.
