Hi All,

I  was going on 100 miles on 75 mile limit on I95 Georgia  and i was having California driving licence. police stopped me and said they didn't accept the California licence and took me to jail and asked me to pay 1409$ and i paid the amount and came from the jail. I want to how this will effects on my status .

Any idea how this will impact my H1 transfer, H1 extension and Green card process if I am found guilty ?

Will appreciate any help on the same.Thank You

What do you mean with "they didn't accept the CA license"? Are you not living in CA? If you live in another state, you have to get that state's DL.

And that speed, and the amount of the fine, it could be serious. See a lawyer.

to give you response ... you did not clearly mentioned all the required details for any one to response...

1. police stopped me and said they didn't accept the California licence and took me to jail --- ?

police will definately stop if you cross the specified speed limit. but you did not mention, the reason of why they could not accept the CA DL ?

1. is your License expired ?

2. Did you mentioned, you are living in GA ? more than 6 months but still did not update ur DL ?

3. coming out of jail statement --- makes no sense to me.. if you pay the bail bond, you will be released. But you for sure might be having court date to attend ? did you receive any ticket ? what does it state on the ticket ? what is the citation they gave for you ?

without giving clear picture, just mentioning did not accept DL is a vague statement.

For any one who holds any 50 US States DL which is still not expired, cannot get arrested. unless they did not change the DL even after 6 months.. which can get u warning or citation.  All the states will honor the DL.

Unless if you give clear picture no one can help you.. if you are trying to hide something.. then no one can help.
